La Colombe owners Todd Carmichael and Jean Philippe Iberti started roasting beans almost 20 years ago in Philadelphia but only opened their first NYC café (in Tribeca) a couple of years ago. This Soho outpost opened its doors in 2009. La Colombe also supply a number of cafés and restaurants around the city, including Saturdays, Bittersweet and Le Bernadin. Truly is one of the best brews in the city – only downer for me is they don’t do soy. No problem though, because the olive oil cake and other sweet treats go great with a shot of espresso. Delicious!
