New American café, restaurant and oyster bar Five Leaves occupies a pretty perfect spot at the North West corner of McCarren Park. It’s still hard to find quality coffee stops in New York that also serve full (and equally great) meals, but Five Leaves is an exception to that increasingly outdated rule. Along with Stumptown coffee, these guys serve a vast and brilliant food menu (breakfast, lunch and dinner), which includes the Five Leaves (grass-fed) Burger. Pearler about this is it comes topped with pineapple, beetroot and a sunnyside up egg (home!) On the breakfasty side there’s always the Sage Scrambled Eggs or Ricotta Pancakes, along with a selection of pastries and other delicious treats. To be honest, everything I’ve tried at Five Leaves – from the decadent cocktails to the pungent truffle fries, and of course, the coffee! – has been excellent. A visit here is definitely worth your time!
